Big Cabs

-Sloan, Asterisk, Rutherford, 2003
-Episode, Cab Blend, Rutherford, 2002

Both wines were great but not really worth their $125 and $200 price tags, respectively.

Asterisk was more elegant and refined with masculine structure and a certain austerity. Episode was pumped full of American oak and had a very vanilla extract aroma and showy palate without a lot of depth or unique character. It almost reminded me of a Spanish Campo de Borja or perhaps a Priorat.
